I finally had to tell my business associates that I was moving to a different hotel. Although the scent didn't extend to the rooms, I just couldn't handle going through the lobby area, and I couldn't get the odor out of my clothes. In fact, most hotels have no odor, which is preferable for people like me with allergies. I travel on business constantly, I've stayed in all manner of hotels worldwide and never have I encountered anything so vile. I mentioned it to the person checking us in and was told that maintenance had changed the scent and that people had complained that it was too strong. Within minutes of entering my eyes were watering, I got a severe headache, and began wheezing. The odor that they pipe into the lobby area is so strong that if you have any type of allergies at all, it will make you sick. However, the problem is in the hotel itself. Valet service was excellent, the casino is nice, public areas are clean, etc. On the onset, L'Auberge looks like a really nice property.
